How to Export a DJ Set to Rekordbox, CSV or M3U from Mixprism
By Damian William · June 2026 · 4 min read
You just found the perfect DJ set on Mixprism — every track decoded with BPM, Camelot key, and label. Now you want to take it into your DJ software. Here's how to go from a decoded tracklist to a ready-to-play Rekordbox playlist in under 5 minutes. Works with Rekordbox, Serato, Virtual DJ, Traktor, and any software that reads M3U or CSV.
1Find the DJ set you want to export
Search for any artist, festival, or set on Mixprism. Open the set page to see the full decoded tracklist — every track with BPM, Camelot key, label, and a timestamp synced to the YouTube player.
Not finding your set? Paste the YouTube URL via Add a Mix — the tracklist is decoded in seconds if the description contains timecodes.
2Add tracks to your Crate
Two ways to build your crate:
- →Full set: click Add all to Crate at the top of any tracklist to add every track at once.
- →Individual tracks: click the crate icon next to any track row to add just that one.
You can add tracks from multiple sets, artist pages, or the Gem Radar — your Crate persists across your session.
3(Optional) Expand with AI Smart Crate
Open your Crate at mixprism.eu/my-crate and click AI Smart Crate. The AI (powered by Groq) reads your tracks' BPM and Camelot keys and suggests harmonically compatible additions — tracks that real DJs have played in similar sets.
This is the fastest way to build a harmonically sorted set. The suggestions are ordered by key compatibility (using the Camelot Wheel rules) and BPM proximity, so the resulting playlist flows naturally from track to track.
4Export to your format
In your Crate, click Export and choose:
The download starts immediately. No account required for crates under 20 tracks.
5Import into Rekordbox
In Rekordbox 6:
- 1.Go to File → Import Playlist
- 2.Select the downloaded .xml file
- 3.The playlist appears under Playlists in the left sidebar
- 4.Tracks already in your library are linked automatically
- 5.New tracks are added as references — analyze them with Rekordbox's analyzer to generate waveforms
Tracks exported from Mixprism include BPM and key metadata — Rekordbox will display these in the library browser, saving you the analysis step for tracks already in the database.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Mixprism account to export?
No account is required for crates under 20 tracks. For larger exports and the AI Smart Crate feature, a free account is needed (just an email address, no credit card).
Does the export include BPM and key data?
Yes. When BPM and Camelot key are available in Mixprism's database, they are embedded in all three export formats. Rekordbox will show these in its library browser.
Can I export a full DJ set in one click?
Yes — use 'Add all to Crate' on any set page, then export from mixprism.eu/my-crate.
Which DJ software supports the M3U8 export?
M3U8 works with Virtual DJ, Serato DJ Pro, Traktor, Native Instruments Maschine, and most media players. For Pioneer Rekordbox, use the XML format instead.
