If the mix has been decoded, you'll see the full tracklist with timecodes synced to the YouTube player. If it's not yet in our database, click 'Add a Mix' on the homepage and paste the YouTube URL — the tracklist will be decoded in seconds, provided the description contains timecodes.

Why are some tracks marked as 'ID'?

An 'ID' is a mystery track — a song the DJ played that hasn't been officially identified yet. This often happens with unreleased tracks, edits, or productions the DJ tested live before release. On Mixprism, the community helps identify these tracks: anyone can suggest a title, and others can upvote the most accurate guess. It's how we collectively crack the most exclusive sets.

Browse Mixprism's mystery IDs section, where unidentified tracks from popular DJ sets are listed publicly. You can suggest a title, upvote others' guesses, or use Shazam / SoundHound on the live track. Mixprism is unique because it surfaces mystery tracks from sets that even Shazam can't identify, thanks to the community of ID Hunters.

Which platforms does Mixprism support?

Right now, Mixprism only supports YouTube DJ mixes. The video must include a tracklist with timecodes in its description (e.g. '00:00 Artist - Title'). Mixcloud and SoundCloud support is on the roadmap and will follow soon. Apple Music and Spotify mixes are not supported, as they don't expose tracklist metadata publicly.

How do I add a DJ mix to Mixprism?

Click 'Add a Mix' on the homepage (or the + button in the header). Paste the YouTube URL of the mix, wait a few seconds while we scan the description, and confirm. If the video is valid, the tracklist will be decoded and added instantly to the database — no account required.

What are the requirements for a YouTube video to be added?

The video must meet 4 criteria: (1) be hosted on YouTube, (2) be between 15 minutes and 4 hours long, (3) NOT be a tutorial, interview, podcast, review or reaction (we only accept DJ sets and tracklisted mixes), (4) have a tracklist in the description with timecodes formatted like '00:00 Artist - Title' or '0:00 Track Name'. Mixprism reads the tracklist directly from the description — without it, we can't decode the mix.

Why does my mix get rejected?

When you paste a URL, Mixprism pre-scans the video and tells you instantly if there's a problem. Common reasons for rejection: (1) the description has no tracklist with timecodes, (2) the video is too short (less than 15 min) or too long (over 4 hours, likely a livestream), (3) the title contains blocked keywords like 'tutorial', 'interview', 'podcast', 'review', or 'reaction', (4) the video is private, deleted, age-restricted, or region-locked. The pre-scan tells you exactly which check failed before you submit.

What's the correct tracklist format for the YouTube description?

Mixprism reads tracklists with timecodes at the start of each line. Common accepted formats: '00:00 Artist - Title', '0:00 Track Name', '[00:00] Artist - Title', '00:00:00 Artist - Title' (for long mixes with hours). Each track on a new line. The timecode must come first. We support most formats DJs use natively, including with brackets, dashes, and labels in parentheses.

Can I submit Mixcloud or SoundCloud links?

Not yet — Mixcloud and SoundCloud support is in development. For now, only YouTube URLs are accepted. If a DJ has uploaded their set on multiple platforms, please submit the YouTube version. We're working on Mixcloud / SoundCloud scrapers and will roll them out soon.

What happens if I submit a mix that's already in Mixprism?

If the mix already exists, the system will detect it during the pre-scan and show you a link to the existing tracklist instead of creating a duplicate. You can browse the mix immediately. This works because Mixprism uses the YouTube video ID as a unique identifier.

An ID Hunter is a community member who identifies mystery tracks ('ID') in DJ sets. When you suggest the artist and title of an unidentified track, you earn points. Other users can upvote your suggestion if they agree, earning you bonus points. Climb the leaderboard, unlock badges, and become a recognized hunter — all anonymously, no account required.

How do I become an ID Hunter?

It's instant — no signup needed. (1) Browse any artist or mix on Mixprism. (2) Find a track marked as 'ID' (mystery track). (3) Click on it to open the suggestion panel. (4) Type the artist and title you think it is, and submit. You're now an ID Hunter with points on the leaderboard. Your pseudo is generated automatically from your IP address.

The scoring is simple: each suggestion you submit = +1 point. Each upvote you receive on your suggestion = +2 points (community validation counts double). The more accurate your guesses, the more upvotes you get, the higher you climb. Rankings are calculated for both 'this month' and 'all time'.

Yes, that's how the community validates the most accurate guesses. Each suggestion shows a vote button (▲) with the current count. You can upvote once per suggestion (your IP is used to prevent double-voting). Top-voted suggestions are highlighted at the top of each mystery track. When a clear consensus emerges, the track gets officially identified.

How do I export a DJ tracklist to Rekordbox, CSV, or M3U?

Add tracks to your Crate using the 'Add to Crate' button on any track or set page. Then open mixprism.eu/my-crate and click Export. You can download in three formats: Rekordbox XML (importable directly into Rekordbox 6), CSV (compatible with all DJ software), or M3U playlist (compatible with Virtual DJ, Serato, and most media players). The export is free, no account required.

Each BPM and key page shows the top tracks played by DJs in that range, with direct links to the sets they appeared in.

Click any mystery track to open its suggestion panel, then submit your best guess for artist and title. Other community members can upvote your suggestion. Once a suggestion reaches 10 votes, it is automatically promoted as the official identification. You earn points toward the ID Hunter leaderboard for every correct suggestion.

How do I get notified when a DJ drops a new mix?

Once following, you'll receive an email notification each time a new DJ set from that artist is decoded and added to Mixprism. You can manage your follows and alert preferences from your profile.

No, Mixprism is fully anonymous. You can browse, add mixes, suggest IDs, and vote — all without signing up. We use anonymized IP hashing (SHA-256 + secret salt) to prevent abuse and track contributions, but we never collect your email, name, or any personal data.

We collect zero personal data. The only thing stored from you is a hashed version of your IP address (one-way SHA-256 with a secret salt), used solely for rate limiting and anti-spam.
